Perception of time - Graduation project 2025

Let me tell you more about my diploma research, “Perception of Time”.
During the first semester, I dove into writing and exploring the concept of time in its entirety, the present, the future, and the past.
For these ceramic pieces, I chose to focus on themes like memory, nostalgia, and especially the nostalgic smell.

”Perception of time”

Created as part of my graduation project, this piece holds a story, but is designed to welcome yours as well. Each diffuser is wheel-thrown in stoneware and glazed in a custom satin green finish, paired with earthenware sticks, making every piece truly unique.

The scent it carries is a bridge between past and present. It evokes moments long gone, brings people together, and weaves new memories into the spaces we inhabit. Placed into the living room, it becomes a quiet companion to our everyday lives, subtly evolving with us over time.

How can I share a personal memory using ceramics?
How can I express something so intimate and emotional by creating a sensory experience?

This immersive project began with a very personal memory: the comforting scent of cedar.
It’s a home fragrance that has followed me for years, evoking a deep sense of warmth and familiarity. It instantly brings me back to quiet, simple moments at home, with my sisters, my family, the fireplace glowing. Everything feels soft, safe, and full of ease.
